Speaker Spotlight: Glenn Ansley of Full Throttle Development

Glenn Ansley of FullThrottle DevelopmentGlenn is a local to Raleigh, NC.  He has been developing WordPress plugins and contributing to the core project for several years with FullThrottle Development.  He currently works at NC State University as a PHP / MySQL developer but continues to contribute to the community during his free time.  While he enjoys many aspects of WordPress development, the community is what keeps him here.

Glenn will be presenting on the topic of WordPress Filters and Actions in the Developers track.  Here’s an extract from what you can expect to hear from Glenn:

The hook API is what sets WordPress apart from so many other free and open source software projects. While there are multiple tutorials across the internet that teach you how to add an action or a filter, you’ll never experience the full potential of this powerful feature until you comprehend what’s taking place under the hood. WordPress Filters and Actions will take an in-depth look into the hook API. We’ll explore what it is, how it works, common pitfalls, and advanced techniques that will make you a more robust WordPress developer.

So register today for WordCamp Raleigh 2011 and come meet Glenn.  Don’t forget to follow him on Twitter – @glennansley

Interested in sponsoring WordCamp Raleigh?

WordCamp Raleigh is only 3 weeks away now but we still have some great opportunities for sponsors looking to get their name in front of our guests.

Check out these unique sponsorship opportunities:

Sponsor the Internet for the conference!
We are providing free wireless Internet access to all attendees for the two days because we know how they love to be online and connected to Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, and their blogs. So why not own the Internet for a couple of days. $3,000 will buy you branding of our guest Internet access. So you can have your name at the end of the slogan “WordCamp Raleigh Internet access sponsored by …” on the access WiFi information postcards handed to every attendee.

Sponsor the coffee breaks!
Do you love your caffeine? Well so do our guests at WordCamp Raleigh. You’ll be helping to keep them alert so that they can enjoy the great sessions we’ve got scheduled. $3,000 is all it will take to sponsor the four refreshment breaks throughout the weekend. Admit it, that’s what you spent on Caramel Macchiato’s last month. So put your name and logo on the coffee stations and get yourself instant promotion.

Sponsor the air!
What? I hear you say. You’re selling the oxygen as well? Yes we are and for just a few bucks you can get branded balloons filled with genuine WordCamp Raleigh air for each of our guests, just in case the real stuff runs out. $3,000 will literally get your name on the air. And if our guests don’t take the balloons home we’ll donate them to the local children’s hospital for the kids to enjoy.

Want something a little less expensive?  We have packages starting at $500.00.  Just check out the Become a Sponsor page for details.

Discounted hotel rate ends tomorrow!

If you haven’t booked your hotel accommodation yet and you’re looking to stay at the Sheraton Raleigh for WordCamp then you may want to visit Sheraton Reservations for WordCamp Raleigh 2011 today.

The special event rate of $109.00 per night ends tomorrow so take advantage of it while you can.  The Sheraton is a beautiful hotel with very comfortable accommodations and excellent service.  It’s situated in the heart of downtown Raleigh and is the location for the conference.

We look forward to seeing you in 3 weeks!
