KidsCamp FAQs

Q: When is KidsCamp?

A: KidsCamp takes place on Saturday 6th April from 9am to 3pm.

Q: Where is KidsCamp held?

A: KidsCamp will be in the same location as WordCamp in a classroom in Engineering Building I close to the registration area. The room will be clearly sign posted. Location information can be found on our Venue page here.

Q: Do I have to stay with my child?

A: Yes, a parent or guardian must accompany their child at all times unless the child is 14 or older.

Q: What if I want to attend a WordCamp session?

A: A parent must stay with their child at all times, therefore, if you wish to attend a WordCamp session, you will need a parent or other guardian to remain with your child whilst you attend WordCamp. You will also need to purchase a ticket for WordCamp in order to attend sessions.

Q: I bought a ticket for my child(ren) – if i stay with my child, do i need to buy a ticket for myself?

A: If you are staying with your child and not attending the classes or lunch, then you don’t need to purchase an Attendee Ticket for yourself. We ask those attending any sessions outside of KidsCamp or attending lunch should purchase an Attendee Ticket to help us cover costs.

Q: May I bring more than one child?

A: We recommend that an adult be responsible for no more than 2 children. They will need your assistance throughout the day, and managing more than 2 can become overwhelming. Each child will need their own ticket and a waiver form must be completed for each child.

Q: Do I need to bring a laptop?

A: Yes, you MUST bring your own laptop. Tablets can also work although they are slower for many young ones (and adults) to type on.

Q: What ages are appropriate?

A: We recommend ages from 7 to 17 (depending on your child).

Q: Who is teaching KidsCamp?

A: Sandy Edwards: Sandy taught her very first KidsCamp at WordCamp Orlando in 2015. She owns Data Driven Labs, a marketing firm that brings analytics to all size companies. She loves to give back by teaching kids about coding, WordPress, and other technical skills. Sandy is very active in the Orlando WordPress community.

Q: I’ve got a question, who can i send it to?

A: You can contact the organizers here.
