Organizers

The organizers of WordCamp Raleigh are volunteers from the local community that have kindly donated their time to plan and organize this event.

Alisa Herr

Alisa loves flexing her skills in strategy, data analysis, writing, empathy, design, and web development. She found her calling to lift up those who use their talents as a force for good and established Unity Digital Agency in 2016 to connect mission-driven technologists, designers, and strategists to the organizations who need them the most. Unity is a Certified B Corporation that specializes in creating beautiful, accessible websites for community builders and businesses that bring people together. A North Carolinian to the bone, Alisa was born and raised in the Triangle, has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Appalachian State University, a master’s degree in library and information science from UNC Chapel Hill, and ardently defends her preference for Lexington style bbq.

Steve Mortiboy

A.K.A, the British guy, Steve has 25 years of management and service delivery experience. Steve started his career in the British Ministry of Defense working for the Army Department. For the past 15 years, he has managed large projects and enterprise clients with a drive to provide the best customer service. Steve made North Carolina his home after he met a lovely lady who is now his wife. Everyone in the office, as well as neighboring offices, love Steve more than usual on Fridays when he puts on his bartending hat and starts serving drinks at the Semper Fi Lounge while working on the best and original WordPress SEO plugin, All in One SEO Pack! Steve spends his spare time trying to become an expert grill chef and working on his southern drawl, y’all.

Michael Torbert

As the developer of All in One SEO Pack, one of the most downloaded WordPress plugins, Michael loves his work as much as driving his Audi. With his free time, he tries to fulfill his childhood dream: travel the world and taste good food. Fall is Michael’s favorite season because college football is on and he’s a Hokie. Oh yeah, he studied Computer Science at NC State University, and wore Hokie gear the entire time!
